Biography of Panagiotis Drakatos

Panagiotis Drakatos is a member of the Data Management Systems Laboratory (DMSL) in the Computer Science Department - University of Cyprus since 2020. Panagiotis Drakatos completed his M.S degree and acquire a diploma in computer science from the department of information and communication systems engineering from Aegean University. He also holds an M.Sc. degree in computer systems specialized in issues related to computer hardware and software from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree on the Blockchain field at Department of Informatics, the University of Cyprus. Panagiotis Drakatos has received multiple awards in his career, including 2018 Technical Chamber of Greece Award, 2019 locals mayor's award for great achievements and Ph.D. Innovation Fellowship from the University of Cyprus. He is currently working towards a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Cyprus under the supervision of Dr. Demetris Zeinalipour. His primary research interests include Data Management in Computer Systems and Networks, particularly Internet-of-Things (IoT) Management. He also enjoys combining research, discovery and problem-solving to create novel services that will benefit society. His research interest Data Management in Computer Systems and Networks, particularly Mobile and Sensor Data Management; Big Data Management in Parallel and Distributed Architectures. it also includes blockchain applications and challenges in large scale networks, distributed systems, security, and applied cryptography, high-performance computing including database systems, and the Internet of Things
