The Project
Universities at rural areas far from major urban centres have often difficulties in offering a wide range of specialised state-of-the-art topics in their curriculum because of lack of specialized personnel and easy access for external specialists. Additionally, research collaborations are often hindered due to the extra cost and time needed for physical communication. As a result research and education in such Institutions are relatively underdeveloped.
The aim of this proposal is the construction of a medical educational/research intranet between the University Cyprus, Univ. of Patras, Democritus Univ. of Thrace and Aristotle Univ. of Thessaloniki in Greece, University of Naples, Italy and Paphos Hospital Cyprus. The proposed intranet will support the undergraduate educational program, post-graduate practice and residency as well as the promotion of the research collaboration.
