VISITING ACADEMIC POSITIONS

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Cyprus has a number of vacancies for Visiting Academics at the ranks of Lecturer, Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor.  Applications are being accepted in all areas, but we are particularly interested in:

Theoretical Computer Science / Security / Visual Computing / Computer Games / Human Computer Interaction / Software Engineering / Computer Networks / Data Management

A visiting appointment is for one semester (Spring Semester:  15 Jan – 31 May; Fall Semester: 1 Sept – 31 Dec), but can be renewed for up to four semesters.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in a relevant subject and BE FLUENT IN GREEK (both of these requirements are mandatory).

The monthly gross salary for these positions is:

  • Visiting Academic (Professor)                    €3.845,84
  • Visiting Academic (Associate Professor) €3.456,98
  • Visiting Academic (Assistant Professor)  €3.279,45
  • Visiting Academic (Lecturer)                       €2.860,41

Research position opening at the University of Cyprus

Applications are invited for research positions (Special Scientist) in the Xi-Computer Architecture Group of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Cyprus (UCY) (www.cs.ucy.ac.cy/carch/xi/). The successful applicant will join the EU Framework 7 project Eurocloud (http://www.eurocloudserver.com/).

Eurocloud is a 3-year (Jan 2010 - Dec 2012) STREP project that aims to deliver a next generation energy-conscious 3D Server-on-Chip for Green Cloud Services. The project is lead by ARM and the consortium includes Nokia, IMEC, EPFL and UCY. University of Cyprus is leading the Reliability and Fault Tolerance work-package and is contributing to the other work-packages: Physical Prototype, Workload Characterization, 3D Architecture Design and Power Management, and On-chip Hierarchies and Interconnect. We are seeking one motivated researcher with BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Graduate degree will be considered an advantage. Applicants should have extensive knowledge in one of the following areas: Computer Architecture and Fault Tolerance. Previous related research experience will be considered an advantage. The post can be combined with graduate study at UCY. The posts are until the end of the 2012 (extension possibility can be discussed). The salary will depend on qualifications. Research position: FP7 Project TERAFLUX

Research position openings at the University of Cyprus

Applications are invited for two research positions (Special Scientist) in the Computer Architecture Group at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Cyprus (UCY). The successful applicants will join an EU Framework 7 project (TERAFLUX) working on the computer architecture, execution model, and simulation of a many-core system. TERAFLUX is a Future Emerging Technologies integrated project with emphasis on exploiting Data-Flow Parallelism throughout the system. It runs for 4 years (Jan 2010 − Dec 2013) and takes on the challenging problem of providing a complete solution to integrated computer architectures with more than 1000 cores, or Teradevices. The Computer Architecture group of UCY is leading the Computer Architecture work-package and is contributing to other work-packages such as Applications, Programming model, and Simulation. We are seeking two motivated researchers with BS in Computer Science or Computer engineering. Graduate degree in these areas will be considered an advantage. Applicants should have extensive knowledge and experience in any of the following areas: Computer Architecture, Parallel Execution Models, Parallel Processing, Linux administration and Systems Programming.

The posts are for one year with the possibility of annual renewal for up to four years. The salary will depend on the qualifications.

Πρόγραμμα Ανταλλαγής Φοιτητών μεταξύ Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου και Πανεπιστημίου Καλιφόρνιας 2012-2013

Tο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου μέσα στα πλαίσια συμφωνίας Κινητικότητας Φοιτητών που έχει συνάψει με το Πανεπιστήμιο Καλιφόρνιας, σας ενημερώνει για το πρόγραμμα ανταλλαγής μεταξύ των δυο Πανεπιστημίων.

Η καταληκτική ημερομηνία για υποβολή αιτήσεων για το 2012/13 είναι η 1η Μαρτίου 2012. Κάθε πανεπιστήμιο-μέλος δικαιούται να αποστείλει μόνο μία αίτηση. Η διάρκεια σπουδών είναι ένα εξάμηνο.

Οι αιτήσεις πρέπει να συνοδεύονται από τα ακόλουθα έντυπα:
