Job opennings for the position of two Special Scientists on a full time basis We invite applications for two research positions in the Xi Computer Architecture Lab (http://www2.cs.ucy.ac.cy/carch/xi/) at the University of Cyprus. These positions require conducting research in the area of Computer Architecture. The positions are funded by grants from Intel Corporation, HiPEAC (FP6) and the University of Cyprus. Applicants are expected to have 1. excellent programming skills in C/C++, 2. a bachelor degree in computer science/engineering or related field (applicants in their last year of undergraduate studies are also encouraged to apply), and 3. an interest to pursue graduate studies at our department. An MSc degree, previous coursework/experience in Computer Architecture, familiarity with the UNIX environment and scripting will be very useful but not required. The openings are for the position of a Special Scientist on a full time basis. A successful applicant will be appointed initially on a semester basis. The appointment can be renewed several times and can become yearly after the first semester of appointment. The monthly salary for a full-time appointment will be in the range of CY 450-1000 depending on qualifications and prior experience (presently CY 1 = 2 US dollars, approximately). Incoming Fall 2006 graduate students are encouraged to apply. Applicants need not be citizens of the Republic of Cyprus. Greek language is used for instruction in graduate courses.
